About Me
I am an activist, consultant, and journalist specializing in the preservation of small, struggling higher education institutions. Through various articles and open letters, I chronicle the existential threats facing colleges such as Guilford, Hampshire, and Marlboro. I argue that these institutions often suffer from administrative mismanagement, declining enrollment, and a lack of financial transparency. To prevent permanent closures or predatory mergers, I often advocate for better integration of community stakeholders in creating a shared vision, stronger governance, innovative business models, and a return to the unique educational values that define these campuses. My work serves as both a critique of current leadership and a strategic roadmap for stakeholders attempting to rescue their colleges from collapse, often suggesting constructive solutions.
